AMDG Community Award
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam ("For the Greater Glory of God")
The AMDG Community Award was created to recognize Loyola鈥檚 staff and administrators from across all areas of the University who exemplify the Ignatian spirit by displaying extraordinary initiative and dedication to Loyola鈥檚 mission, vision, and values. Both awards are presented during the Maryland Day Convocation in March. Each recipient of this award will receive a monetary prize of $750.
The award recognizes staff and administrators who display extraordinary initiative and dedication to Loyola鈥檚 mission, vision, and values. This recipient:
- Demonstrates support for strategic initiative(s);
- Participates actively in the University community;
- Commits to engaging others to advance Loyola鈥檚 mission;
- Demonstrates a spirit of going above and beyond; and
- Embodies Loyola鈥檚 core values, as well as the Ignatian spirit that is central to 麻豆官网首页入口.

2026 Staff Recipient
Brendan Sweeney, Student Development
Brendan is recognized for his commitment to the Loyola community, consistently demonstrating initiative, collaboration, and service.Brendan supported the stability of the Student Leadership & Involvement Office during a period of significant transition, ensuring colleagues and campus partners remained informed. Referred to as the "Bridge Wizard", he leads the University鈥檚 student engagement platform, The Bridge, providing essential guidance and technical support to students and colleagues. Beyond his role, Brendan serves as Co-chair of the Operational Excellence Technology Workgroup and supports more than 250+ student organizations, fostering connection and engagement across campus. As a Loyola alumnus, he reflects Loyola's values through his student-centered approach, and his enthusiasm and positive spirit embody Loyola鈥檚 call to be 鈥減ersons for and with others.鈥
