Position Graduate Assistant for the Honor Council

Hours and Wages

The GA will receive hourly compensation of $20 per hour for up to 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience in marketing, social media, and working events

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, advertise, staff, and execute first-year oriented programming in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Messina for the full calendar year
  • Distribute the Messina weekly newsletter
    Track and manage attendance data at Messina events and trips and assist with other assessment strategies
  • Develop and prepare content on the Messina website and assist with editing the Messina Handbook
  • Assist with weekend events such as Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, Move-In Weekend, and Family Weekend
  • Contribute to the THRIVE Center for Student Success by actively participating in events, supporting colleagues, and encouraging undergraduate students to use available resources

Expectations

  • The SIRJ Graduate Assistant employment period is for the entire academic year, starting on Monday, August 3, 2026, and ending on Sunday, May 16, 2027.

  • Honor Council Graduate Assistants are required to work 10 hours/week to meet the terms of their contract. At least 5 hours per month, must consist of in-person office hours in the Office of Student Integrity.

  • GAs will primarily work in-person Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

  • GAs are expected to adhere to all University policies. Any violation of university policy shall result in referrals to the university Student Integrity process and, pending the outcome, result in probation or termination of employment.

  • The Director of Student Integrity and Restorative Justice Practices (or their designee) must approve any adjustments to the approved schedules for all GAs. All extracurricular activities, outside employment, or non-credit internships must be discussed in advance with the Director of SIRJ (or their designee) prior to being accepted by the GA. If approved, these changes must be put in writing. Please note that no more than 10 hours per week of these activities will be approved.
  • GAs must fulfil all expectations outlined in this document and their contract. Failure to meet any of these expectations will result in job action, which includes but is not limited to written warning, suspension/loss of pay, and/or termination from the assistantship.
